Persian village / nomad rugs
Nomads in the Orient began weaving carpets by hand for their own use a very long time ago. They were intended for a wide variety of purposes in the nomads' everyday lives. For example, as tent pads, saddlebags or warm blankets. The wool comes from their own sheep and is dyed with natural colours. Nowadays, production often takes place in villages where the nomads have settled. The quality of the carpets has remained very high and they are still knotted by hand for months in the old tradition.
