This vase rug was hand-knotted in Djam in Persia. These rugs are famous for their unique excavated motifs and are quite rare today. The carpet is usually only available in large sizes and in certain cases is reminiscent of the Kashan carpet with its medallions and special corners. There are different finenesses and qualities, this example belongs to the finely knotted ones due to the design used in the pattern.
