Ghashghai Nomads

Gabbeh rugs are probably among the best-known hand-knotted oriental rugs. Knotted by the Ghashghai nomads of Iran, the carpets are usually simple in their designs and contain only a few finely worked motifs. They are often inspired by nature. A strong craft on a horizontal knotting loom, with hand-twisted greasy wool that is dyed with vegetable colours.
