Product information "Persian Gashghai Gabbeh"

Gabbeh Qashqai Iran
This rug was knotted by Qashqai nomads in the Zagros Mountains in south-west Iran. The nomads use a local wool rich in fat, the wool is hand-twisted and dyed with vegetable dyes. The weft and warp of these high-quality nomadic rugs are made of wool. Gabbeh rugs are traditional tribal rugs. The word Gabbeh comes from the Persian and means natural. Like most of our genuine Persian Gabbehs, this one is finely knotted and therefore short in pile.
