Product information "Nain "

Persian Nain special size cork wool with silk
This round Nain was woven in the knotting workshop in the town of Nain in central Persia, near Isfahan, where a court manufactory was founded by the Shah's father at the beginning of the 20th century. The carpets are usually very light in colour with a cream or deep blue background and a central medallion. High knot density and a first-class material result in carpets of high quality. They are produced in most sizes and the rugs are among the most beautiful in the world. They are very popular with collectors. With the so-called 6-La Nain, care must be taken to ensure that a weft thread has been inserted after each knotted row, as is the case with our fine example. There are many new productions of Nain 6-La on the market, but they do not have a cross thread (Arhadj) after each knotted row, which enables a much faster completion and a lower purchase price. The pieces in our Nain collection are selected pieces with the high-quality knotting technique.
