Product information "Nain 6-La"

Persian Nain 6-La, cork wool with silk. This carpet was knotted in the workshop in the town of Nain in Central Persia, near Isfahan; a royal workshop was established there in this small town at the beginning of the 20th century by the Shah. The carpets are generally very light in colour, with a cream or deep blue ground and a central medallion. A high knot density and first-class materials result in high-quality carpets. They are produced in most sizes and are among the most beautiful in the world. They are very popular with collectors. With so-called 6-La Nain carpets, one must ensure that a weft thread has been inserted after every row of knots, as is the case with our fine example. There are many new Nain 6-La productions on the market, but these do not feature a weft thread (arhadj) after every row of knots, which allows for much faster completion and a lower purchase price. The pieces in our Nain collection are selected items featuring this high-quality knotting technique. An intermediate weft thread is also inserted after every row of knots.
